Week 4 Day 2

Communications

Matthew 5.3

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Personal Reflections “Blessed” means “approved” or “made joyful by the Lord”, something that runs deeper than a mere thing or occasion that makes us happy. Often, those who are poor in spirit find confidence not in themselves, but only in God. Free from driven-ness and untamed striving, their joy stems from pure unmerited grace.

When you read “poor in spirit”, what comes to your mind? Do you exhibit such “poverty of spirit”? Would others around you consider you as such? How can you grow to be “poor in spirit”?
